This Guanábana basket like the rest of their product line combines trendy color and design with traditional materials and techniques to create very special fashion and home decor accessories. This basket is hand made by artisans using the technique of weaving with iraca, typical of the Colombian tradition. The iraca, or toquilla straw, is a natural fiber that comes from the Carludovica palmata plant. From the leaves of this plant, the artisans obtain fine strips that are then dyed and woven by hand to create the baskets.
